Episode 31 – Pulse Multiply and Divide

Episode 31 Multiply and Divide

If you want to get sub octaves out of an oscillator what do you do? Well, you can use a sequencer that you clock at audiorates and then set every other knob to max and every other to min. That makes a square wave one octave down. But there are other ways too, this video shows one. In this patch I use a voltage controlled switch and a sample and hold to divide down the puls wave. On every pulse the sample and hold samples the voltage coming from the switch. The switch switches between a high and low input and the output of the sample and hold controls the switch. This makes the switch toggle between its inputs on every pulse from the original oscillator. It sounds more complicated than it is.
